Damascus Road began out of a lifetime of rockhounding and mineral collecting. I never expected to go in the direction of smithing but it fell onto my lap a couple of cold winters ago when I realized that I had far too many beautiful stones not to share. I began doing lapidary work with my minerals and quickly evolved into jewelry design. I travel throughout the United States every summer camping and living along remote rivers and in high deserts collecting “rocks” and other beautiful gifts from the earth. Every US state has it’s own amazing deposits of minerals. If I need to source a mineral that is not found in the USA I work with an American couple overseas who obtain minerals in a responsible way. My metals (copper and silver), leathers, packaging, and all other materials related to my craft are American made. One of my favorite materials to use is pre WWII copper pipe.

Damascus Road will be attending both weekends of the 2025 Lavender Farm Fest
